This book talks about the complex network of forests and how communication happens between trees. How trees collectively build a support structure, and even decide which trees flower and when. Even during human intervention, how signals are sent to determine which ones survive and which ones lie dormant. It has a combination of research, facts and theories and presented as a light read. But gives a deeper meaning in each read!
The author Peter Wohllenben has spent over 20 years working in the forestry commission in Germany and has written many bookd on trees. He now runs an environment friendly woodland in Germany. Pradip Krishen restores degraded natural habitats and author of "Trees of Delhi", "Jungle Trees of Central India".
